Settings can be accessed from the Settings section of the left hand menu bar.
The default navigation app is Apple Maps. This means that when you click Navigate, Apple Maps will open with the address of your Stop ready for navigation.
There are several options to choose from if you prefer a different navigation app. The options are Google Maps, Waze, Sygic, Navigon and Yandex. Remember that you'll need to install those apps on your phone before you can use them with Road Warrior.
Warrior Tip: If you know you'll be navigating in an area without internet you might want to try Sygic or Navigon for good options for offline mapping.
You can choose to navigate to an address or to a coordinate, depending on what you prefer or your company uses. Coordinates tend to be more helpful for more rural areas and addresses for urban areas. This can also depend on your selected navigating app. Your selected navigating app may display coordinates as an address (which can include a range of addresses, for example: 100-200 Main Street), but it will navigate you to the known coordinate of the stop.
You have three options for travel mode: Driving, Biking or Walking. Road Warrior uses the data from Apple Maps to plan routes using based on these modes.
Optimize Mode allows you to optimize your route for either the fastest time or shortest distance.
This setting allows you to avoid any of the following: tolls, highways or ferries.
Default is to miles in the US and kilometers in most other locations. You can change the distance unit here.
Service time refers to the length of time that you will be visiting a certain Stop. This might be for just a few minutes if you are delivering a package or for an hour if you are conducting a sales call. You can edit the default Service Time by using the + and - buttons to adjust the service time length.
Editing the service time default will apply to all Stops created in the future. It will not change the service time on any current stops.
Warrior Tip: Want to edit a Service Time for just one Stop? Just click on the Stop in the Planner View and select Edit Stop. Click the plus or minus button to add minutes to the Service Time.
Search Options refers to what types of information will be searched when you click the Search icon at the top of the Planner views. The default is to search the Web and search Favorites that you have saved in Road Warrior. Simply uncheck these options if you do not want to search them.
Contacts refers to the contacts that you have saved in your phone with a valid address. This option is off by default. If you choose to select this option, you will be prompted once to give permission to access your contacts.
Rapid Entry Mode
Rapid Entry Mode decreases the number of keystrokes for users who are inputting a large amount of stops. Rather than having to re-enter search mode, you will remain in search mode until you cancel out. This is useful for users who have a long list of addresses to input.
The smart keyboard intuitively switches your keyboard from numerical to alphabetical. When you first click the search bar, the numerical keyboard will be open. After you type a space, the keyboard will switch to alphabetical. This will increase your speed of entering addresses.
By turning this option ON, a pop up will display every time you click Optimize, asking if you would like to continue. You may want to turn on this option if you are optimizing large routes and you don’t want to accidentally optimize a route and use up your daily allotment of optimized routes. Default is that this option is off.
Confirm Stop Removal
By turning this option ON, a pop up will display every time you click Remove Stop, asking if you are sure you would like to remove the Stop. This option is useful if you have a lot of information saved about your Stops and you don't want to accidentally remove a Stop.
Confirm Search Result
This handy setting will pop up a small map once you select a result from the search bar. The purpose is to allow you to visually confirm the location of a Stop before adding it as either a Start Point, Favorite or Stop.
Prompt for Check-Ins
When switched ON, a full page Activity screen pops up every time a Stop is Checked-In. This is useful because it allows you to add notes to the Check-In immediately. Your Check-Ins are saved under the Activity tab in the left hand menu bar.
Stay Awake Mode
Stay Awake Mode allows you to keep your screen display on while using the Road Warrior app. Rather than having to unlock your phone while driving, the app will be continuously open. Keep in mind that this means that your phone will always be on and your battery will likely drain faster. Please use this setting according to your battery preference.
Sort Order changes the order of your stops while in list view. Sort by Order, Proximity will sort your stops by the order of that route and then the favorites that are not already on the route by their distance from your departure point. Sort by Order, Name will sort your stops by the order of that route and then the favorites that are not already on the route alphabetically. Sort by Proximity will sort your stops by their distance from your departure point. Sort by Name will sort your stops alphabetically.
Planner List View
Changing this setting from Proximity to Name will change the order of your Favorites on the Planner List view from their distance from you to the alphabetical order of their names.
This setting can organize your Routes by their Name or by their Departure Date.
Sorting your Favorites is easy! You can change your settings here to be organized by Name, Proximity, Date, or Color.
Organize your check-ins, calls and texts, and your Navigations by either Date or Name.
